We heard there is a rumor circulating that our organization is closing. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: THE THRESHOLD IS NOT CLOSING! We are ceasing operations of TTI Industries ONLY on May 30.
Rest-assured, all other programs and services remain intact within our organization.
Below is copy from the Press Release we sent to the Daily News yesterday. This explains why we made the very difficult decision to close TTI Industries (our manufacturing division).
Please help stop the rumor mill by correcting anyone who has the wrong impression. Thank you!
Threshold’s TTI Industries to Cease Operations
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
For the past decade, the Threshold Board of Directors and Leadership Team have engaged in extensive discussions about the future of TTI Industries and its prevocational services. These conversations have been driven by a declining number of admissions due to WIOA act, a reduction in subcontract work prohibiting individuals under the age of 25 from receiving prevocational services, funding shifts toward community-based employment, and increased scrutiny of our 14(c)-wage certificate which allows payment based on productivity rather than a fixed minimum wage. When operations moved to the LVS Center in 2012, there were approximately 125 clients enrolled in these services. Today, that number has declined to 30, with no new admissions anticipated, leading to further reductions in the future.
Given the declining enrollment, policy shifts favoring community-based employment, and uncertainty around 14(c), the Threshold Senior Management and Board of Directors have made the difficult decision to cease operations of TTI Industries by the end of May 2025.
In response to these changes, we have invested in expanding community-based Day Services and Community Employment Services to better serve the evolving needs of individuals, which we believe will be excellent alternatives for clients transitioning out of prevocational services.
While the timing of these changes may vary, our goal is for all transitions to be completed by May 2025.
This closure will not impact any other Threshold programs or services. Senior Day Services will continue operating at their current location within the Lawrence and Vivian Stockhausen Center. All services at our Rolfs Avenue location will remain intact.
Thank you to our wonderful community for your continued support as we navigate these changes.
Michael Hoffman, Executive Director
